Tips:

• If the name of the farm is blue with an underline; that's a link to their website or Facebook page. Click on it for the most current hours and information.
• ALWAYS call the farm or store BEFORE YOU GO - many farms have closed in the past year, and of course, we won't know until the season starts and we find they aren't open! Call to confirm their supply, their hours and whether they have trees, are allowing choose-and-cut or just precut trees; and which attractions or winter activities are available. All three can change during the short Christmas season, due to weather, demand and the farmer's business conditions! Our farm is situated on Omanawa road, near the breathtaking Omanawa falls. Come and enjoy the sweeping view of the Bay of Plenty while taking your time to pick your favourite tree. There is plenty for the kids to see and do, hide and seek within rows of trees or they can visit our Donkeys, Goats and Chooks.In the 2018 season our trees cost (Prices may have changed!) $45. HOW TO BUY YOUR TREE: Our Christmas Trees are available from our farm every day from 1st December and also for the last two weekends in November. Come up to our farm at and look around and choose your tree. It's always a great idea to choose your tree while it is still in the ground and then collect it when you are ready for it. A freshly cut tree will always last longer than one that has been cut and shipped a distance. Take your time and enjoy the fresh air and visit our animals who are always keen for company! We have a variety of sizes and shapes for all tastes, a healthy tree will have shining, bright green needles that are flexible and stay on the tree to the touch. We have pinus radiata trees available, which are the ones you'd be used to with the traditional, lovely pine-y smell. In addition to the pinus radiata we are growing other species such as firs and spruces but they take a little longer to grow so won't be ready for a couple of years, but keep an eye out for those in the future when you are making the decision about your choice of tree. We'll then ensure it's yours by tagging it for you until you are ready to take it home. They have an old barn on the Puriri property which has been converted into a superbly decorated Christmas tree shop. There they have on sale a wide range of exquisite Christmas decorations. Around the barn are thousands of growing Christmas trees and visitors are invited to bring their families, select their very own tree and make the beginnings of the Christmas season a special time for everyone. Directions: state highway 26 between Paeroa and Thames, with the turn-off well signposted. Outlets for Courtneys' Christmas trees have also been established in Mt Maunganui and Tauranga (Bethlehem).

  From small trees up to 4-metre (12ft) monsters, we think you'll be impressed by the variety of shapes and styles of our trees. Unlike roadside vendors selling trees, we don't cut the trees down until you're ready. From late November, you can browse our crops and reserve the tree that best meets your needs. You can take the tree with you immediately, or come back at any point leading up to Christmas to collect it. Baumbergers are a Swiss-Kiwi family based in rural Matangi.
