A visitor writes on December 11, 2011: "I got the number from this web page and called before leaving Satuday Dec 10th, to hear a message with their hours, etc. It was a really pretty drive to find them, but were surprised to see they were closed at 2pm, when their own sign says open until 3pm. Undaunted, I decided to try again Sunday Dec 11th. I tried the other number this time, hoping to get a person. (It is no longer in service) SO I called the first number again. It now says they are closed for 2011. We hope to try and get there earlier next year! "

  • Noel's Tree Farm  - Choose and cut Christmas trees, hay rides, Santa visits, Wreaths, Kissing balls and Roping
Route 3A, Litchfield, NH. Phone: (603) 759-2264. Email: mrrplemire@msn.com. : Hay Rides every weekend!! Purchase HOT Popcorn every day and marshmallows every weekend to toast in our outdoor fire pit. Kids don't forget you can see Santa every Sunday!!! Balsam and Frasier Christmas trees.
A visitor writes on December 10, 2011: "We went to this farm the first year we lived back in NH...2008 and were really disappointed there weren't any large size trees to cut ourselves, although there is a large selection of pre cut. We went somewhere else in 2009 and after searching around, tried Noel's again in 2010 (one of the few places that said they were open Sunday). Once again we were disappointed in the lack of trees to cut ourselves...we left without a tree. I am using this as a caution for anyone in 2011 who want to cut your own tree...don't go here is my advice, unless you want a pre cut tree..."
A visitor writes on November 26, 2010: "I had read the previous years reviews, but thought since it was the first day the selection would be better. Well if you are looking to cut your own, I would not suggest them. They have only a few trees over 4 feet, and most are not your  "ideal ". They did have many precut trees (from NH farms), only Fraiser Fir & Balsams. A 7-8ft balsam cost $47, and a fraiser was $54. They shook the tree for free but charged $1 to bail it. They did have some options for food, but they weren't readily visible (you had to ask for everything). There also was no fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The traveling petting zoo was there as well. THe bonus was they do accept credit card which most places don't. I will say, for the drive and cost of the tree, we would have rather gone to Turkey Hill and likely would have found something just as nice, and the cost ($60/tree) would have been about the same after gas. Thanks for the website, it was very helpful to search for local farms!"
A visitor writes on December 12, 2009: "Dec. 12, 2009 We went to Noels's Tree Farm today and their are only a few 3-4 foot trees to cut yourself. Nothing bigger."
Comment from a visitor, December 8, 2008: "We went to Noel's in Litchfield. They don't have any cut your own trees left (ok, maybe 3 trees over 4 feet) all the rest are 4 feet or shorter. He said they will have more next year. (another part of the field that is not open right now.) They did have a very nice selection of pre cut trees. Also, a fire, where you can roast marshmallows or hot dogs!! Cute! they have soda and hot cocoa too."

The trail continues into the forest along old logging roads out to the campfire area. The ride is 1.5 hours long including the 30-minute stop around the campfire. Be sure to bring along snacks to enjoy while gathering by the fire. We find guest enjoy roasting marshmallows and eating s'mores around our campfire. Wheels or Runners? The condition of our trails determine whether or not we use wheels or runners. In order to operate the larger sleigh we need a 6 inch base of packed snow. The 20-passenger hay wagons and sleighs are very similar to each other in style. The runners are antique logging sleds used about 30 years ago to haul logs. We have placed a modified hay wagon style body on these runners. We do use hay in our larger sleighs because its help to keep our guest warm while traveling. A visitor writes on November 30, 2009: "Sidmore's Lakeview Christmas Tree Farm - They take cash only, and have lots of different trees. We were just there on Sunday 11/29. The trees are all mixed up, which is nice for contrast, but a little confusing. They provide sleds to haul the trees, and they will bale the trees and tie them onto your car for you. (We gave a small tip to the guy) There's a little barn that has Christmas tree coloring books, as well as hot chocolate for sale and pre-decorated wreaths also. Beautiful view of Lake Pleasant, bring your camera - they have a horse drawn sleigh in front of it and it's a great family picture with your tree and your family. Dogs on site are quite friendly. They also have a very sweet cow on site. Great place to go - as we got 3 trees and are thrilled with all of them. "

For years Warren Farm has used common sense farm practices such as cover cropping and crop rotation. Small farms do not use the same methods the large corporate farms use. The pesticide charts that state certain fruits and vegetables are high in sprays do not at all reflect the methods employed by small farms for many reasons too numerous to list here.
