Tips:

• If the name of the farm is blue with an underline; that's a link to their website. Click on it for the most current hours and information.
• ALWAYS call the farm or store BEFORE YOU GO to confirm their supply, their hours and whether they have trees, are allowing choose-and-cut or just precut trees; and which attractions or winter activities are available.  All three can change during the short Christmas season, due to weather, demand and the farmer's business conditions! Farms get sold, shut down or run out of trees, and I have no way of knowing, because I can't call or visit every farm every month, let alone every day.   A visitor writes on December 04, 2011: "I took my grand children to this farm Sunday, Dec 4th to cut their first tree. Your website had said such goo things about the farm, and how friendly it was. Our visit was quite the opposite. We walked up to where they put the nets on the trees, as that was the only place we could see ay type of staff. I asked what trees they had and where were they, He rattled off 4 or 5 species of tress, and said the fields were all around the house. We climbed the hill walking past the house, and the fishing pond. No signs anywhere, when we reached the field, I discovered lots and lots of unkempt trees. Trees in all shapes and sizes, none appeared to have ever been trimmed, lots with dead branches growing in them, or oak trees, or 2 or 3 trees growing together. All in all, after about an hour of wondering their field, I never saw any sign that the trees were maintained, or this was anything more than a field of wild trees. Sadly we left, and the kids were very discouraged as this certainly was no fun. I then decided to try another farm, Brushy Fork Pines in Old Monroe Mo (Lincoln county). As soon as I pulled into their drive way, I could tell I found my new location to get trees from! Every tree was neatly trimmed, when we got out of the car, an employee came over and greated us, explained to use where the trees were, answered our questions, gave us a saw, and let us know there was free hot chocolate in the store. Suddenly the 2 year old and 5 year old were again interested in tree hunting, and we picked out the perfect tree. Cost difference between the 2 farms? Brushyforkpines was 6.00 per fott as opposed to 3.30 a foot at Sunbrite. Just thought you might like to know what I found "

I recently took a walk with Ralph Lindner, owner of Sunbrite Christmas Tree Farm in O'fallon, and the friendly people who help him. We strolled part of his 70 acres and talked, stopping every once in a while to break off a branch tip and enjoy its aroma. "Better than Calvin Klein," Mr. Lindner says. And he's right! We went to Pumpkins and Pines last year and I wasn't sure of the name. Anyway, we found it here (thanks!) and went out today to get our tree. We had a great time, but just wanted to let you know that they had a farewell sign posted. Sadly, this season (2010) will be their last. I just wanted to update with that as well as to let you know that this particular farm accepts cash or check only. That's something that users may want to know for each of your listings. I (luckily) brought my checkbook just in case, but I usually use a debit card for everything and normally wouldn't have had it with me. Their method of payment was not on their website or info when I called.   Comment from a visitor, October 24, 2007: "They have everything! Great, helpful employees! They have the most beautiful Christmas trees in Missouri! They offer seasons of Christmas (trees and decor), Fall (corn maze, Boos Spook House, awesome entertainment, rides, good food, Pumpkins of course and decor) and Easter (Bunny, hunt, etc---sooooo cool) I recommend this place to anyone. I have been to other farms similar to Pumpkins and Pines, and no one can top this original!!! "
