Tips:

  • ALWAYS call the farm or see their website or Facebook page BEFORE YOU GO to confirm their supply, their hours prices and whether they have trees, are allowing choose-and-cut or just precut trees; and which attractions or winter activities are available.  All three can change during the short Christmas season, due to weather, demand and the farmer's business conditions! Farms get sold, shut down or run out of trees, and they don't all update me every day, let alone every year. For more tips to make your trip fun and successful, click here!
DON'T GO THERE IF YOU CAN'T REACH THEM BY PHONE OR EMAIL OR SEE VERY CURRENT INFORMATION ON THEIR WEBSITE OR FACEBOOK PAGE!
  • Many more farms are requiring pre-booking appointments and reservations this year - check on their website.
  • If the name of the farm is blue with an underline; that's a link to their website. Click on it for the most current hours and information.
  • And please tell the farmer you visit in Northeast England that you found their farm here! I need the farmers to realize that you found them here so that they will keep their information up to date!

And if you know of one I missed and want to add it or correct the information, please let me know! There are affiliate links on this page. Read our disclosure policy to learn more.

Updates for March 2024

March: Most Christmas tree farms open on the last Saturday in November; Some open a month earlier to allow you to mark the tree you want while the weather is nicer! Demand for trees will likely be very high this year, and global supply chain issues may reduce supplies of imported trees .Do expect prices to be up about 20%. You can find Christmas tree facts stats and price trends here.

After Christmas, see this page for where, when and how to recycle or dispose of your Christmas tree, lights, decorations, etc. Many areas have kerbside collection!

Christmas tree farms, lots and activities, sorted by county

Click on Resources above, if you need a county map

NOTE: "Cut-your-own" tree farms are very rare in the UK - unless it explicitly says Choose-and-cut, all of the farms listed cut the trees for you or have pre-cut trees.

We visit in 2020 the first year the farm opened and returned in 2021 to undertake the children's Christmas trail.
